If you are a client looking for information on holding a mediation with the Chester County Bar Association's Mediation program, please visit this page. Thank you for your interest in being a part of the CCBA's Mediation Program. To participate in this program, you must have attended specialty mediation training and have submitted your proper documentation to us for approval. If you still need to attend training, we have a sample list of providers below. You are not restricted to these providers and can use another program if you wish. You should also be familiar with the mediation program agreement that both parties will be required to sign before beginning the mediation process. A full description of the mediation program is located in a PDF file here. Mediator RequirementsThe requirements for joining the CCBA's Mediation Program are as follows:
1 For the purposes of this program, Experienced Mediator shall mean be a person who has received at least 40 hours of education in basic mediation skills and has mediated at least 200 hours. Mediation shall mean a consensual process in which an impartial party (the Mediator) facilitates communication between conflicted parties (the Parties) to aid the Parties in resolving the conflict. Mediators do not have authority to make decisions or impose a solution on the Parties. The fundamental principle of Mediation is the self-determination of the Parties.
