Dear Chester County Bar Association Members:

I want to personally thank all of you who have supported the Association’s pro bono programs either by accepting representation of a pro bono client or contributing financially to Legal Aid of Southeastern PA or Community Legal Services (or both). Through your efforts, the Association is able to provide much needed services to an increasing number of the working poor and indigent who otherwise could not afford legal services.

Legal Aid funding has been dramatically reduced over the past two years. Funding from IOLTA accounts has decreased by $700,000 this year alone because of dramatic reductions in interest rates. There is no better time to increase our efforts to help Legal Aid.

The Board of Directors has approved a resolution calling for all members to contribute to Legal Aid. Our Board members have pledged a significant contribution to Legal Aid as a show of support for this worthy cause. I hope you will follow the Board’s lead and give generously of either your time or money (or both).
